This scientific article provides a theoretical and methodological analysis of the concept of intention as the conceptual foundation of the psychological treatment process. The study interprets intention as an integrative regulator of an individual’s psychic activity, examining its cognitive, affective, and volitional components in relation to the etiology of mental disorders and the mechanisms of their treatment. Intention-oriented psychological approaches are substantiated as a scientific concept that mobilizes internal personal resources, activates conscious self-regulation processes, and facilitates psychological rehabilitation. The research findings present theoretical and practical conclusions aimed at strengthening the role of the individual as an active subject in psychotherapy (Frankl V., 2006).
