Abstract

The article examines current issues of modern Islamic law and the role of fatwas and doctrinal (creedal) provisions in the social life of Muslims. The study is based on the materials of the course “Issues of Modern Islamic Law” taught at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan. It analyzes the main sources of Islamic law, contemporary approaches to ijtihad and the issuing of fatwas, as well as the activities of fiqh institutions in countering radical ideas. The importance of studying Islamic law and creed for the formation of a spiritually mature personality and for the prevention of religious radicalism among young people is emphasized.
